The University of Southern Mississippi
From the time of our founding, Alpha Delta Pi has believed in the importance of giving back to our community. A dedication to philanthropy guides our members to spend time in the service of those who need it most. Our international organization’s commitment to Ronald McDonald House Charities has led to the donation of over $15,000,000 over the course of our partnership. More than 350 Ronald McDonald Houses in 64 countries help keep families with seriously ill or injured children together when they need it most by offering them a comfortable, temporary residence in proximity to a medical facility.
Since 1979, Alpha Delta Pi has been committed to serving Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC). Over the course of our partnership, Alpha Delta Pi has contributed more than $19 million to this worthwhile cause. Today, more than 375 Ronald McDonald Houses in 62 countries help keep families with seriously ill or injured children together when they need it most by offering them a comfortable, temporary residence in close proximity to a medical facility. In addition to donating money to this worthwhile cause, many Alpha Delta Pi collegiate chapters and alumnae associations spend their time and energy volunteering at these Houses. For more information about Ronald McDonald House Charities, please visit the RMHC website at www.rmhc.org.
Our chapter hosts several events throughout the year to raise money for RMHC! In the fall, we had ‘Pie an ADPi’ where members of the Southern Miss community could donate to RMHC and pie a sister! We also hosted a giveback event where we partnered with Kendra Scott in Jackson, MS. At this event; anyone was welcome to attend and shop or even design their own jewelry using the Kendra Scott Color Bar! Our last event for the fall was a picnic event where members of the Southern Miss community were invited to the ADPi house to enjoy some food and music while socializing with their friends! In the spring, we hosted ‘Roses for RMHC’ where campus community members could donate, and our women would make them a bouquet of roses just in time for Valentine’s Day! Our final event of the spring semester was ‘Alpha Delta Dodgeball’, where men and women from the Fraternity and Sorority Life community were able to compete against each other in a friendly dodgeball competition to raise money for RMHC!
